Eyes to the future as Victoria Summit Vision Day line-up revealed

The Victoria Summit 2021 today revealed the keynote speakers for the first summit day, the ‘Vision Day’, on 28 May 2021: Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg MP, State Treasurer Tim Pallas MP and global futurist Anders Sörman-Nilsson.

The Victoria Summit 2021 is the leading opportunity for business, governments, unions and educational institutions to help shape a vision for Victoria and a path for our economic recovery and long-term prosperity. The Vision Day is the first of two Victoria Summit 2021 public forums and follows meetings of the Reference Group of industry leaders and working groups.  

The Reference Group has determined the three themes of the Summit: Business and Economy, Future of Work and Community, Health and Wellbeing. The working group co-chairs are: 

• Business and Economy: Aurecon Chief Executive Louise Adams and Australian Industry Group Victorian Head Tim Piper 
• Community, Health and Wellbeing: Victorian Council of Social Services CEO Emma King and Aware Super Chief of Staff Debra Mika 
• Future of Work: Swinburne University of Technology Vice Chancellor and President Professor Pascale Quester and Victorian Trades Hall Council Secretary Luke Hilakari. 

Anders Sörman-Nilsson, a global futurist and innovation strategist, will help set the scene prior to breakout sessions, which all attendees will participate in, and inspire participants to think big with an eye on global trends to make Victoria the best place to live, learn, work and operate a business. 

The Victoria Summit 2021 will operate from March to November, highlighted by the Vision Day and Pathways Day (6 August), culminating in a final playbook to be launched in December 2021. The events will be held in-person (subject to COVID-19 restrictions) and will be open to the public, offering both in-person and virtual engagement options. Places will be limited due to capacity constraints.   

Powered by the Victorian Chamber, participants will take part in ongoing in-person and online engagement throughout the year, via website discussion boards, surveys and email forms.
