Next generation take to the podium at Voices of Tomorrow

A prominent line-up of emerging leaders will headline the Victoria Summit’s Voices of Tomorrow event at MCEC next Tuesday as Victoria’s next generation of leaders share their vision for the future of the state.

Youth Activating Youth co-founder and 2022 Victorian Young Australian of the Year Ahmed Hassan, Council of International Students National President Belle Lim, and award-winning climate change communicator, researcher and operator Stephanie Hall will be part of the esteemed panel.

The trio will share their journeys, visions and goals for the Victoria they would like to be living and working in by 2050 and discuss the challenges and opportunities their generation will face over the next three decades.

Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chief Executive and Victoria Summit Reference group Chair, Paul Guerra, is excited to offer a platform to the next generation as the Summit moves to its next phase.

“Our young people are key to Victoria’s future prosperity; we need to listen to them and understand their motivations and aspirations as we continue to work on the playbook,” he said.

“The importance of our youth has been a consistent theme throughout the Victoria Summit process and the Victorian Chamber has scheduled this additional public forum to ensure they have an adequate platform and input into the process.

“Our current leaders have a responsibility and obligation to foster the voices coming through and to leave them a better Victoria, a state that is the best place to live, work and operate a business.”

There will also be a special keynote address by the Hon. Martin Pakula MP, Victorian Minister for Industry Support and Recovery, Trade, Business Precincts, Tourism, Sport, Major Events and Racing on his aspirations for the state over the next 30 years.

This next instalment of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry-powered Victoria Summit follows August’s Vision Day and October’s Pathways Day and will continue building a playbook that will detail the journey towards achieving a shared, bold, compelling and aspirational vision for Victoria.

The Victorian Summit 2021 Voices of Tomorrow will be held on Tuesday 7 December 2021, at 2.30pm-6.30pm in the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. More information, including full speaker bios, can be found on our events page.
